Pamela Floyd-Cranford
Pamela Floyd-Cranford is from Hartford, CT and has called Manchester home since 1986. These days, being a “Mema!” and traveling with her grandsons is her greatest joy.
Pamela has been a passionate advocate, community builder, and champion for equity. She began her career with the Department of Children and Families in 1988, dedicating over three decades to supporting children and families across Connecticut. She retired in 2022.
In 1996, she helped found the Parents of Students of Color Organization, (SOC). In 2016, she spearheaded the African American and Black Affairs Council of Manchester to strengthen community partnerships and push for meaningful change.
In 2017, Pamela made history as the first African American elected to the Manchester Board of Directors, where she is now serving her fifth term. She uses her platform to advocate for inclusion, fairness, and opportunities for all residents.
In 2024, she launched Elite Tertiary Education Consulting, LLC, helping students by providing career pathways, and life-changing educational experiences.
Pamela holds a BA in Journalism from Prairie View A&M University and an MSW from the University of Connecticut. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified School Social Worker, and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is a devoted mom, joyful “Mema,” avid cyclist, and enthusiastic traveler.
