Heather Doucette

Heather Doucette has served on the Manchester Board of Education since 2023. She holds a master’s degree in early childhood education and has spent her career working to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for children and families.

Heather began her career as a preschool teacher and early interventionist. Her professional experience also includes more than a decade at the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC), as well as work with the College Board. She currently works at the Connecticut State Department of Education in the Special Education Division, where her work focuses on ensuring that schools throughout Connecticut meet their obligation to provide a free, appropriate public education to students with disabilities.

A longtime Manchester resident and active community volunteer, Heather has served on the boards of the Lutz Children’s Museum and Manchester Public Library, as President of the Bennet Academy PTA, and as founder and former President of the Manchester High School Marching Band Boosters.

Heather and her husband Jason are the proud parents of two Manchester High School graduates, Teddy and Charlie, and two fur-babies, rescue pups Forrest and Bubba. She is honored to serve on the Manchester Board of Education and is passionate about supporting Manchester’s students, families, educators, and schools.
