Bio
I believe every student is owed an excellent school where they will feel welcomed, included, supported, and challenged. Manchester is a diverse, vibrant town that I am proud to call my home. I am honored to have the Manchester Democrats support my candidacy because we believe that our diversity is our strength, and when we work together we can continue to build outstanding schools for all children in Manchester.
I have spent my career working in, learning about, and supporting the growth of schools. I was a K-12 teacher for a decade, and I hold a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Connecticut. I use that expertise to support schools in doing the hard work of creating change, specifically in the context of educational technology initiatives. I am excited to bring my experience and knowledge to the Board of Education to help our school professionals navigate the complexity of new technological tools, prioritize equity, ensure students see themselves reflected in curriculum and staff, and provide rigorous and supportive instruction for every student.
I have lived in Manchester for 9 years and have fallen in love with the community. My husband and I are proud to raise our two children, an 8-month-old girl and 4-year-old boy, along with our rescue dog, Bucatini, in this special town.
